Introduction and Welcome to Harrow Road Health Centre

Harrow Road Health Centre has served the Harrow Road and surrounding areas for over 20 years. We are a family health centre that firmly believes in the long established values of developing positive and long lasting relationships with our patients. This continuity of care ensures that we can best meet short and long term health and social needs.

We believe that care and support is not just about medical input, and have therefore developed a range of other support services on site that we feel better enable us to meet local need; helping people have less isolated, happier and healthier lifestyles.

Our philosophy is to provide services and access to all local people without reference to health or social needs. Our practice charter, which governs the way we work, is to provide a high standard of accessible services to the local community, and never to discriminate against people on the grounds of race, class, religion, sexual orientation, age social or medical condition and to respect other people as we wish to be respected ourselves.

We deliver our services from very welcoming and high quality premises that are purpose designed and meet all of the latest requirements for access and safety.

We are sure that you will find our team, services and facilities combine to provide you with a family health centre that you happy to be a part of, and to place your trust in us. Harrow Road Health Centre provides:

Easy access to your GP and the facility to email your GP

We know that access to your GP is one of the most important things for you as a patient. That’s why we have set up a unique system which provides very easy and convenient access to our doctors – this is our “Talk to Your GP” Appointment system. This means if you or your family are ill we can see you quickly and easily, or we can give you advice on the phone if that is appropriate. We can also deal much more efficiently with other things like letters and certificates, which do not need an appointment.

In addition we have a facility which allows you to email your GP directly.

We hope that you will find our new website both interesting and informative, and a useful source of information about the practice.

We now have a number of online services that are available for use which include:

  • Registration for new patients
  • Ordering of repeat prescriptions
  • Emailing your Doctor or Nurse
  • Joining our Patient Group
  • Contacting the Health centre for general queries and enquiries

Practice Information

The first section tells you about the services we offer here at the practice, including the various clinics we offer on a regular basis, plus information about registering as a patient, appointment times, and so on. Please email or telephone the practice if you need more information about any service listed.

General Local Information

This section includes information about other local health services, what services are available when we are closed, and a page of links to a large number of health-related websites for various conditions.

If you have any suggestions or comments about this website or any other aspect of our service, please let us know ! The Contact Us page has an email link to the practice, and we would be very grateful for your feedback. This website is for the benefit of users and patients of our service, and we will do everything we can to make it as useful as possible.

Out of hours services

Our practice is open between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm each day, except Thursdays where we close at 1.00 pm but patients sometimes need medical advice and attention outside of those hours. This section gives you information about the wide range of services available throughout the day and night.
