EMAILING YOUR DOCTOR / NURSE
As part of our practice improvement and development plan agreed with our Patient Reference Group, patients can now email their usual Doctor or Nurse should they have a non-urgent medical query. This should improve access and provide for quick and easy communication with patients.
Response Times: You should expect a response within a maximum of suggest 3 working days.
Your Doctor / Nurse will in most cases ensure that a response is sent to you within 3 working days; although the general aim will be to respond as early as is possible. If your Doctor is currently out of the surgery then your email will be forwarded to the Duty Doctor for review, however, as emails are only for non - urgent queries, in most cases your usual Doctor will respond to you when they are back in the office.
As part of ensuring proper governance and safety, all emails to and from patients will be centrally coordinated and processed by our Administrative Team.
Security and Confidentiality:
The information you submit by email will be treated in the strictest confidence. However, we cannot guarantee the security of the global internet / email systems. This means that it is possible (although unlikely) that your enquiry/message and our response may be read by someone other than you or us. If you are concerned about this possible loss of privacy please contact us by alternative means such as post or telephone.
By using the email function below you acknowledge the above and agree to not hold the practice liable if the correspondence is read by someone outside the surgery.
Please note that all emails are processed by our Administration team, who are bound by and strictly adhere to confidentiality rules. However if you have highly personal information you want only the doctor or nurse to see, please write or telephone the surgery to talk to them rather than using email.
